REV.
CORNELIUS LEON BASS, PASTOR

and First Lady Beverly Bass

Cornelius L. Bass was born and raised in Mansfield, LA where he became a follower of Christ after his late father, Rev. M.B. Bass, Pastor of Midway #2 Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana for 39 years.  Rev, Cornelius Bass announced that God called him to ministry, March 1993.  Since that time, Pastor Bass completed theological seminary at Gospel Ministry Outreach Theological Seminary in Houston, Texas earning a Bachelor of Theology in June 1995.

Pastor Bass worked as supervisor at Gary Job Corps, an educational training program that helps young people earn a career, high school diploma or GED.  Pastor Bass met his wife Beverly at Gary Job Corps in San Marcos, Texas.  The two later married on August 17, 1990.  Pastor and First Lady Bass moved from San Marcos to Maxwell, Texas.

Pastor Bass was called to Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in April, 2000.  He served previously as a Deacon at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in San Marcos, Texas and Deacon at First Baptist Church in Lockhart, Texas before serving as interim Pastor at First Baptist in Lockhart, TX.   When he is not on the road traveling the country preaching revivals (from California to Texas to Louisiana and back), Pastor Bass enjoys being with his wife and family, rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.

 Message From the Pastor

I, Cornelius Bass, do promise to be a good shepherd of God's people.  I promise to minister to the need of all alike.  I pledge to preach God's word in and out of season.  I will seek the salvation of the lost and nurture the saved.
